Coffee prices increase

You've heard stories the past week about the rising price of gasoline. That's not the only thing you may be paying more for.

The price of coffee has increased three times since the beginning of last summer. Now, it's up by 20 to 25 percent.

Some of the reasons for the increase include a decreasing dollar and increasing production costs.

So far, though, most customers haven't had to pay more for their daily cup of coffee.

"On the retail side, our prices are staying the same, on the whole sale side, our costs are going up but it's not just coffee, it's everything. Coffee has taken a 20-25 percent hit," Pete Wilson, owner of Coffee Grounds said.

Coffee Grounds
have not raised their prices in about a year.

They plan on it, along with other local coffee shops soon, to keep up with their bottom line.
